Exfoliant
Regardless of whether it’s a scrub or a hydroxy-acid based product, we employ exfoliants to remove dull cells and rejuvenate the skin. It’s fascinating to note that the human skin generates approximately one million new skin cells every 40 minutes! These cells originate from the deepest layer and gradually make their way to the surface, where older cells become hardened, lose moisture, and eventually shed from the skin. This natural process, known as desquamation, serves to eliminate damaged cells containing environmental pollutants. However, as we get older, desquamation slows down, leading to dullness, clogged pores, and dryness in the skin.
By exfoliating the skin, we can effectively eliminate dull cells and unveil newer ones, resulting in a fresher and healthier appearance. Our tailored facials utilize exfoliants that cater to your specific skin type, such as corn cob meal or rice bran, to eliminate dead skin cells through friction. Alternatively, chemical exfoliants work by dissolving the intercellular glue that binds skin cells together, enabling their separation and removal from the skin. Examples of chemical exfoliants include Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid.
